Defensive lineman Taco Charlton of Michigan participates in a drill during Day 5 of the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium on March 5, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Dallas Cowboys picked Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton with the 28th overall pick in Thursday's NFL draft. Here's what NFL draft pundits from ESPN and NFL Network are saying about the pick:

Mike Mayock: "This kid has length, power and athletic ability. He reminds me physically of Carlos Dunlap at 6-5 5/8 and 277 when Dunlap came out of Florida. He's got length, power, movement, skills. One-year starter, which makes me question where he was before that with all this length and talent. Carlos Dunlap is a good (comparison), except Dunlap ran 4.7. This kid ran a 4.92. I don't he has quite the same twitch. However, he made plays, and I thought his best game was against Ohio State, to be honest with you. He had 2 1/2 sacks. He played really well in the run game, and I thought if he played like that the way he did against Ohio State every single week of the year, he would have been a top-10 or 12 pick."

Mel Kiper Jr.: "Late in the year, he was really putting it together as a pass rusher for Jim Harbaugh. You talk about guys late in the year that made their mark: go to the Ohio State tape and him coming off the edge. He had three tackles for a loss, 2.5 of those were a sack. … Covers ground more quickly than you think. Has closing speed."
