If his health is good and his salary demands aren't too much, Derrick Rose could be back with the New York Knicks, ESPN is reporting.

It appears Derrick Rose wants to stay with the New York Knicks.

Citing sources, ESPN says that the Knicks have a "legitimate" interest in re-signing Rose.

At pre-draft workouts, Knicks president Phil Jackson told reporters the team was listening to Rose's pitch.

In early April, Rose was ruled out for the season with a torn meniscus in his left knee, which might have hurt his asking price going into free agency.

Rose spent the first seven years of his career with the Chicago Bulls. He was the NBA MVP in 2011, but then at torn ACL in the 2012 playoffs began a stretch where he was plagued by injuries throughout the rest of his tenure there.

In New York, Rose had somewhat of a rejuvenation. In 64 games, he averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists. But the Knicks finished 31-51 on the season.

Rose, who has publicly said he'd like to remain in New York, struggled early to adapt to the triangle offense.

"Like I've said all along, and like he's said all along, you know what, he wants to be in New York. He feels comfortable there," Rose's agent, B.J. Armstrong told Sirius XM NBA radio in February.
