Templeton athletes compete at conference meet

On May 26, the Templeton Middle School track and field team competed at the conference championship in Cedarburg. The boys finished in sixth, and the girls took ninth.

Second-place finishes were earned by Garrett Staab (1,600 meters) and Sam Plechaty (triple jump). Taking third were Staab (800), Sam Plechaty (400) and the 4x400 relay team of Gavin Kuhlenbeck, Plechaty, Sean Szuminski and Max Niebler. Kuhlenbeck was sixth in the 1,600 and seventh in the 800. Ethan Shoemaker, Joe Geels, Niebler and Szuminski were eighth in the 4x100 relay.

Staab broke the school record in the 1,600, which had been held since 1980, by three seconds with a time of 4 minutes, 54 seconds.

For the girls, Alexis Zuehlke was second in the 400 and fourth in the 100 and 200. Also finishing in fourth was Erin McCormick in the triple jump. Hannah Pfersch placed seventh in the discus and Cora Kuhlenbeck was eighth in the 1,600. The 4x200 relay of Ella Rades, Lilian Kreuser, Marisa August and Morgan DeHarde were seventh.

Gosz basketball camps ready for 23rd season

The 23rd annual Mike Gosz Basketball Camp will be offering two weekly sessions this summer. The sessions will be held at St Mary's Grade School (Menomonee Falls) from June 13-16 and at Hamilton High School from June 20-23. The boys and girls sessions will be conducted from 1 to 3:30 pm. The cost for the camp is $80 and is open to boys and girls entering grades 1-8.

A Shooting and Offensive Skills Camp will be offered from July 19-21 at Hamilton High School. Boys and girls sessions will be conducted from 1 to 3:30 p.m.. Cost is $80.

The 2016 Hamilton Summer Basketball Camps, offered for boys in grades K-9, will run June 14-17 and July 5-21.
