The Hamilton golf team saved its best Greater Metro Conference performance for when it mattered most. On May 18 at Morningstar, HHS placed third at the final league meet with a 325 and took sixth for the season. Marquette won the meet with a 295 and also claimed the conference title by winning every league event this season.
Hamilton's Carter Krystowiak shot a 72, which was the second-best individual score at the meet. Jared Christensen was second on the team with an 81. Cooper Vance fired an 83, Drake Schreihart carded an 89 and Adam Paluchniak a 95.
'We're hoping we see those same things now coming up at the regional tournament,' HHS coach Stan Grove said.
Krystowiak earned second-team All Conference honors.
The HHS JV team finished fourth at the 18-hole GMC tournament on May 18 at Silver Spring. HHS was only two shots out of third with a 373 total. Blake Deede led the Chargers with an 87, Alex Friedrich and Jason Hunt shot 94s, Ryan Hoffman a 98 and Evan Lueck a 99.
On May 19, the Hamilton freshman team took second at the 18-hole GMC tournament held at Songbird Golf Course. Scoring for the Chargers were Jack Deede with an 88, Nick Mueller shot a 92, Grant Frohna and Augie Bronsen fired 93s and Max Lang a 95.
'I'm very proud of all the freshman golfers,' HHS coach Jerry Cibulka said. 'The commitment, effort and dedication really showed as the season went on.'
On May 16, the Chargers beat Brookfield East at Songbird, 193-216. Jack Deede led with a 47, Grant Frohna and Augie Bronson shot 48s, and Nick Mueller and Max Lang fired 50s.
