At the Menomonee Falls Girls Invitational May 12, the Hamilton track and field team placed second with 119 points. Brookfield East was the meet champion with a 126.

'We had a very good day on the track,' HHS coach Ben Nysse said. 'We had a great day in some of the field events. We started moving in the right direction on some of our times. It still wasn't the best of days, in terms of weather. It was only in the upper 50s, but the girls felt confident coming out of that meet, more so than they have with some of the other ones.'

The 4x400-meter relay team won convincingly with a time of 4 minutes, 4.98 seconds. Taylor Klug, Chelsea Parker, Bianca Stubler and Megan Jansett made up the team, which ran the ninth-fastest time in the state this season, according to the Wisconsin Track Online Honor Roll.

'The 4x4's time came down by four seconds,' Nysse said. 'I was looking for a 4:04, and that's what they gave me. I was happy with that.'

Parker, Carolyn Troutman, Rachel Jeffers and Taylor Fuerstenberg were winners in the 4x800 in 9:46.23. The time, which ranks ninth on the honor roll, was 32 seconds faster than the second-best time.

In the 400, Stubler took first (58.02), Elizabeth Behrndt was second (1:02.50) and Rachel Passow placed third (1:02.91). Stubler's time was the seventh-fastest in the state this season. Fuerstenberg was the 800 winner in 2:22.28. Passow took fifth in the event (2:31.53).

Jessica Mueller had a height of 9-6 in the pole vault, which was good enough for second place. Jaclyn Zeman vaulted 9-0 and finished in a three-way tie for fifth. Mueller was also fifth in the long jump. Kristin Thompson placed sixth in the triple jump.

Meghan Joyner was also a champion in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.84. Isabel Seay was fourth in the 1,600, and Jeffers took third in the 3,200. Taylor Laboy finished fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Claire Birk, the 2015 Division 1 runnerup in the 300 hurdles, missed nearly a month because of an injury, but is expected back for the Greater Metro Conference Outdoor Championships May 17.
