The Hamilton golf team finished fifth at the Bender Invite May 13 at West Bend Lakes Golf Club with a 351. Carter Krystowiak earned a sixth-place medal with a score of 82. Jared Christensen also had a good day by firing an 83, which was the eighth-best score overall.
Drake Schreihart carded a 91, Adam Paluchniak shot a 95, and Cooper Vance a 96. Nicolet won the meet with a 317. There was just a 10-point difference between the second-best score of 341 and fifth place.
'It was a little lower shooting,' HHS coach Stan Grove said of the invite. 'We had a couple of guys that had some big holes. If we could have eliminated those, we would have been right down there with the leaders.'
On May 16 at the Wisconsin Country Club for a Greater Metro Conference mini meet, Hamilton took fifth with a 172. Vance had a team-low score of 42. Both Krystowiak and Christensen shot 43s. Schreihart carded a 44, and Adam Paluchniak rounded out the scoring with a 45.
Marquette won the meet with a 148. Evan Hussey of Marquette had the lowest score of the meet with a 35.
The Chargers junior varsity team was defeated by Marquette at Silver Spring May 10, 176-190. Jason Demler led with a 43, Logan Ambrookian shot a 48, Mason Paluchniak carded a 49, Alex Friedrich a 50, Evan Lueck a 54 and Nick Wood fired a 65.
On May 9, the Chargers freshman team hosted Mukwonago at Silver Spring and won, 309-329. Jack Dede led with a 46, Nick Mueller fired a 49, Augie Bronson shot a 51, Grant Frohna a 52, Max Lang a 58, Jacob Dye a 58, Brenden Coffey a 68 and Emmitt See a 79.
