Morgan Dercola hasn't snuck up on opposing players and coaches for quite some time. Hamilton's junior catcher immediately caught people's attention as a freshman and hasn't slowed down since.

This past season, Dercola led HHS with a .534 batting average, hit seven home runs, drove in 33 runs and sported a 1.618 on-base plus slugging percentage.

For her strong showing at the plate and as a catcher, Dercola was honored as the Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year. It also marked the third consecutive season Dercola received first-team All Conference.

Dercola was joined by teammate Madison Earing on the first team. Earing, a junior infielder, hit .429, drove in 23 runs and had a 1.110 OPS.

Keri Bohlmann, a junior who was named the team's MVP, was basically Hamilton's only pitcher in 2017. Bohlmann received second-team All GMC.

Junior Taylor Earing was second team in the outfield. Earing batted .297 and drove in 11 runs.

Senior Kayla Sullivan was honorable mention in the infield. Junior Rachel Slavic was honorable mention at utility/designated hitter.

Hamilton finished third in the GMC with a 9-5 record.

Menomonee Falls, which won the conference with a 14-0 record, was also well represented in the GMC.

Senior pitcher Ciera Jones received first-team All GMC status after striking out 157 batters. Jones won 17 games for Falls.

Sophomore catcher Emma Neale was first team after driving in 22 runs with a .342 batting average.

Senior Allie Paulson and junior Cami Stigler made first-team All GMC in the infield. Paulson hit .397 with 21 RBIs and Stigler had a 1.165 OPS, 37 RBIs, three home runs and a .432 batting average.

Junior Lou Sciortino was first team at utility/DH. Sciortino had team highs in runs scored (37), batting average (.471), singles (36), walks (17), on-base percentage (.563) and stolen bases (19).

Senior Elena Beck (infield), senior Gabby Feltman (infield), junior Abbey Frambs (outfield) and junior Megan Jackson (outfield) made the honorable mention team.

Dercola and Jones also made Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Large Schools (Divisions 1 and 2) second-team All State. Stigler received honorable mention status.

Wauwatosa East's Ed Raue was the Coach of the Year. Wauwatosa East's John Lindstrom was the GMC Assistant Coach of the Year.
