There's no stopping the Lannon Stonemen these days in the Land O' Lakes Western Division baseball league.
Playing two games at home last Friday and Saturday, the surging Stonemen stopped visiting Milwaukee Friday night by a 9-1 score and then upset three-year defending LOL champion Pewaukee on Saturday, 9-6.
The two wins moves the Lannon victory streak to nine games. The Stonemen lead the Suburban Division with a 13-2 mark with three games remaining. Lannon will play at the Brookfield Bulldogs at 1 p.m. Aug. 14.
Nick Erd was the starting pitcher in both games for Lannon, He went seven innings on Friday and all nine innings on Saturday, earning both wins.
Against Milwaukee, Lannon broke the game open by scoring five runs in the sixth inning.
Tyler Kozlowski, Don Matovich and Jason Kalman led the winners with two hits each. Erd allowed just six hits in seven innings and did not allow a run.
Carl Knaust had two hits for Milwaukee.
In the win over Pewaukee, Lannon broke away from a 6-6 tie with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning off of losing pitcher Brian Henschel. Brodie Engel and Dean Haase had the RBI base hits in the eighth inning for the winners.
Lannon finished with 15 hits. Brett Krause led the winners with three hits and Kozlowski, Matovich, Haase and Engle added two hits apiece. Engle and Haase drove in three runs each and Haase homered in the game.
