MENOMONEE FALLS - A 43-year-old man Falls man is dead after allegedly arming himself with a gun and threatening to kill his wife and commit suicide.

Around 1 a.m. on Friday, June 9, the Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a domestic incident in a residence on Virginia Lane. 

According to the investigation, the intoxicated 43-year-old man was believed to be in the house making the threats. A child was also thought to be in the home at the time.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Tactical Enforcement Unit searched the home and found the child was safe. 

While still on the scene at 6:17 a.m., police responded to a report of a man down on Taylors Woods Drive. The man, who was found dead, was the same man involved in the domestic disturbance earlier in the morning.

The incident remains under investigation by the Menomonee Falls Police Department and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner's Office. 

According to a release by the police department, the public was not in danger at the time of the incident; however, a reverse 911 call was made to the homes adjacent to the scene to make them aware of the police presence.
