GERMANTOWN — A single vehicle car fire on northbound Interstate 41 closed two lanes of the highway just before 5 p.m. Thursday, July 6.
The Germantown Fire Department was on the scene to battle the flames, which had fully engulfed the 2009 Chevy Traverse just north of Lannon Road on the interstate.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The fire originated in the engine compartment area, but the cause is undetermined.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 40 minutes; the two interstate lanes re-opened at that time.
Damage to the vehicle is approximately $7,000 and content loss is around $3,000.
