Lightning confirmed to be the cause
MENOMONEE FALLS - No injuries were reported after an early morning fire in the village of Menomonee Falls on Friday, Feb. 24.
According to Captain Jeff Knop of the Menomonee Falls Police Department, a neighbor called to report smoke and flames at a residence in the 6000 block of Weyerhaven Court at 6:05 a.m.
The home was unoccupied and the fire was quickly extinguished. Knop said damage was limited to the attic of the garage. Knop confirmed mid-morning the cause of the fire was due to lightning.
