Theft

1Three people walked out of Hobby Lobby, N95 W18281 County Line Road, with $340 worth of unpaid merchandise at about 6:35 p.m. March 20. The assistant manager was able to retrieve all the shoplifted merchandise in the parking lot when the suspects got into a newer model gray Acura Integra and fled the lot. Police located the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but it did not stop, and officers chased the vehicle for about 3 miles until the pursuit was terminated just south of Appleton Avenue on Highway 41.

2A man who tried to shoplift $443 worth of food and merchandise at Woodman’s, W124 N8145 Highway 145, abandoned his cart after being confronted at the door by store security at about 1:40 p.m. March 24. The suspect fled the lot as a passenger in a black 2000s model Nissan Quest.

3A 58-year-old man was taken into custody for shoplifting $209 worth of Red Bull and bottled water at Woodman’s, W124 N8145 Highway 145, at about 7:10 p.m. March 24. The man left the merchandise in the lot when confronted by an employee, and then ran to his vehicle. When police arrived the man was still inside his vehicle, and he was removed and decentralized by officers. Police also learned the man was out on bond for two counts of shoplifting in Racine County and he was taken to jail. He is facing charges of shoplifting, resisting police and bail jumping.

Assault

4Police responded to a report of a fight between a man and a woman at Marcus Theater, W180 N9393 Premier Lane, at about 7:30 p.m. March 20. The victim told police she was struck in the face by her live-in boyfriend, a 35-year-old man, who fled before police arrived. The man was later taken into custody and transported to jail on a charge of domestic violence/substantial battery. The woman was taken to the hospital for her injury, which required stitches.

5A 19-year-old man was taken into custody for battery for punching a 20-year-old man at Uno’s Restaurant, W180 N9455 Premier Lane, at about 9:55 p.m. March 22. The suspect, who fled the scene and was taken into custody at his residence, allegedly admitted hitting the victim.

6Officers responding to a report that someone in a black Chevrolet pickup truck was stealing items out of unlocked vehicles in the 14100 block of Fond du Lac Avenue took a 24-year-old man into custody for theft at about 7:20 p.m. March 26. The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old woman, was also taken into custody and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found paraphernalia in their truck and inside her purse.

7A 28-year-old man was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery in the 13700 block of Fond du Lac Avenue for allegedly pushing his girlfriend up against a wall in their kitchen, causing red marks on her upper chest and neck at about 12:15 a.m. March 30.

8A 52-year-old Massachusetts man was taken into custody for battery at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, for punching a cab driver in the face at about 11:10 a.m. March 27. The man punched the cab driver after he told him the amount he owed for cab fare.

9A woman was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery in the 15000 block of Woodview Drive, for allegedly punching her husband in the face while they were having an argument in bed, causing him pain and to “see stars,” at about 12:05 a.m. March 29. The woman’s preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.14.

Drug possession

10A 20-year-old woman who dined and dashed at Applebee’s was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and for having multiple municipal warrants through the Glendale and Menomonee Falls police departments after police pulled her vehicle over on Pilgrim Road and Valley View Drive at 12:30 a.m. Police learned the woman also hit an Applebee's employee with her vehicle while she was leaving the lot, but the employee did not want to press charges against the woman.

Vandalism

11Two exterior window screens on a garage were cut during an apparent burglary attempt in the 14700 block of Prudence Drive at about 2:55 a.m. March 25. A resident in the home told police he heard banging coming from outside the garage, and when he looked outside, he saw a male crouched by the garage windows. When the resident shouted at the male, he ran off toward Oakwood Park.

Other

12A 39-year-old woman was taken into custody for obstructing for giving police a false name and driver’s license while being questioned about a fraudulent prescription she passed at Walgreens, N83 W15701 Appleton Ave., at 3:35 p.m. March 24.

13A 54-year-old man was taken into custody and cited for carrying a concealed weapon after police found a firearm inside his vehicle during an investigation on Highway 145 and County Line Road at about 6:20 p.m. March 28. Police pulled his vehicle over after he allegedly showed up at a woman’s residence on County Line Road without permission, and was seen trying to open a rear window.

14Police pursued a speeding silver Jeep after it failed to pull over for a traffic stop on Appleton Avenue and North Hills Drive at about 6:30 a.m. April 2. Police chased the speeding vehicle south on Appleton Avenue until it entered southbound Highway 41. Police learned the driver/occupants in the Jeep were involved in vehicle break-ins in Shorewood earlier in the day, and the vehicle was also involved in a short pursuit with Shorewood police.
