1A 53-year-old female customer service employee was taken into custody for theft for processing $627 in fraudulent merchandise exchanges, and also for activating some unearned Kohl’s Cash for a friend at Kohl’s, N95 W18000 Appleton Ave., between Feb. 1 and Feb. 18.
2Police received a report that a male resident in the W13000 block of Fond du Lac Avenue was defrauded out of $5,000 by someone he was corresponding with through an online dating service at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27. The man told police he was speaking with the person online for about six months and was talked into depositing a fraudulent $7,500 check into his checking account and wiring $5,000 to the suspect.
3A 55-year-old man was cited for shoplifting three Xbox games, valued at $180, at Best Buy, N95 W16855 Falls Parkway, at about 2:30 p.m. March 10. According to police, the man took the games into the restroom, wrapped them in tin foil, and then tried to leave without paying. Police also found an opened Suboxone wrapper in his pocket, and he was taken into custody for a probation/parole violation.
4A 36-year-old Menomonee Falls man was taken into custody for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent after he was caught driving a 2017 Toyota in the W16100 block of Junction Way that was reported stolen in Virginia at 8:10 a.m. March 11. Police also discovered he had two felony extraditable warrants in Pennsylvania for felony theft and a parole violation, and he was taken to jail.
5Emergency personnel responded to a report of a drug overdose at a residence in the W16900 block of Garfield Drive at 8:05 a.m. March 12. When police arrived, they discovered a 30-year-old man had overdosed on heroin, and a paramedic injected him with Narcan to revive him before taking him to the hospital. The man was not cited at the time of the incident.
6A woman whose wallet was returned to her after she accidentally left it in a shopping cart at Woodman’s, W124 N8145 Highway 145, was taken into custody for possession of marijuana after a plastic bag containing THC was found inside the wallet at about 6:20 p.m. March 14. The woman admitted the wallet was hers, but said the marijuana belonged to a friend.
7A 53-year-old man was taken into custody for OWI after his vehicle, a 1995 Lincoln Town Car, was pulled over for speeding on Highway 145 and County Line Road at 1:55 a.m. March 12. He allegedly admitted drinking alcohol before driving and had glossy eyes and slurred speech, according to police. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.18.
8A woman who was caught shoplifting two bottles of perfume at Ulta, N91 W16051 Falls Parkway, was taken into custody for obstructing after she gave police three different identities while they were questioning her at 5:05 p.m. March 12. It wasn’t until she was fingerprinted in the booking room that police learned her true identity and she admitted to lying to officers. The perfume was returned, and the store did not pursue theft charges against the woman.
