GERMANTOWN - Police are investigating a string of tire slashings after receiving 17 reports of flattened vehicle tires in the Spassland Park area during the morning hours of Feb. 28.

According to police reports, tires were reported slashed on 23 vehicles in a neighborhood just north of County Line Road between Division and Donges Bay roads. The vandalism occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Feb. 27 and 5 a.m. Feb. 28.

In most cases, the vehicles had more than one tire slashed; and in some cases, up to three vehicles had tires slashed at one residence. The vandalism caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.

In all, police received reports that tires were slashed on vehicles in the W16700 to 16800 blocks of Woodcock Road; the W16700 to W16800 blocks of Navajo Drive; the W16100 to 16400 blocks of Sante Fe Drive; the N9900 block of Nigbor Drive; the N10100 block of Apache Court; and the W16900 block of Concord Road.

The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking the suspects.
