1 A 19-year-old female employee was taken into custody after she and another 19-year-old employee helped each other steal $813 worth of merchandise at JC Penney, N96 W18515 County Line Road, between 6:45 and 8:40 p.m. Dec. 30. Police later discovered she also helped two other people, a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, shoplift $826 worth of merchandise that night, and she was cited for two counts of shoplifting and one count of being party to a theft. The other three suspects are being sought by police.
2 A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody when he tried to walk out of Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, wearing clothing he tried on in the fitting room at about 2:25 p.m. Jan. 1. When questioned, the man told police he just made a mistake and forgot he was wearing the new clothing. The man, who had two prior convictions for shoplifting and was on probation/parole at the time of the incident, is facing a state charge of shoplifting.
