Spelling Bee

Three students from St. Agnes Catholic School, 12801 W. Fairmount Ave., Butler, competed in the regional spelling bee at Templeton Middle School.

The competing students were Olivia Nadolski, Dominic De La Cerda and Ayden Laskowski. Students in fifth- through eighth-grades from the four Hamilton School District elementary schools, Templeton Middle School, Peace Lutheran Academy and Saint Agnes School competed in the bee.

HotSpot for kids

Children, first- through sixth-graders, are invited to HotSpot 2017: Journey Into Space, from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Falls Baptist Church, N69 W12703 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls.

A one-day version of the church's Vacation Bible School, the children will participate in age-appropriate team games and have tasty snacks throughout the day. All HotSpot events are centered around a simple truth from the Bible. Children can be registered at fallsbaptist.org or by calling the church at 262-251-7051.

Family movie

The Germantown Recreation Department and MacArthur Elementary School PTA will hold Friday Night Family Flicks from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at MacArthur School, W154 N11492 Fond du Lac Ave.

Bring sleeping bags, chairs or blankets; a concession stand will be available with popcorn, soda and snacks. Admission to the evening is free.

Cancer education

Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin's Community Memorial Hospital, W180 N8085 Town Hall Road, Menomonee Falls, will hold a class on Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The class will be presented by Monica Shukla, a radiation oncologist, in the Treiber Conference Center. Registration is required.
