911 service

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Lisbon Town Hall 911 Memorial site, W234 N8676 Woodside Rd., Lisbon.

The pre-ceremony guard will begin watch over the World Trade Center Beam at 10 a.m. (please note the time change). The memorial ceremony will start with an honor guard presenting the coloring and laying a wreath over the beam. A guest speaker will deliver a message and a prayer service will follow. At 11:45 a.m. attendees will gather for light refreshments.

Saddle Club

The Menomonee Falls Saddle Club meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the club's show grounds at N75 W25599 Highway 164 in the Town of Lisbon.

The club will hold a pleasure show at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, on the club's grounds.

Sled Bugs

The Sussex Sled Bugs Snowmobile Club will hold its first meeting of the season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Sussex Bowl, N64 W24576 Main St., Sussex.

VOWS Brat Fry

The Volunteer Organization of Women in Sussex (VOWS) will hold its Fall Brat Fry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Sussex Piggly Wiggly, N63 W23735 Main St.

VOWS is a service organization for women of all ages, interested in the community. VOWS members meet once a month from September through June, at Waukesha State Bank, W249 N6688 State Highway 164, Sussex. The next meeting will be held Sept. 13. Guests are always welcome.

Food drive

St. Alban's Episcopal Church will hold a Neighbors helping Neighbors food drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

Church members will be at the Sussex Pick 'n Save and Piggly Wiggly with lists of needed items. Donations will collected during that time.

Grief group

St. James Catholic Church offers a bereavement group which will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Maxim's Restaurant, 18025 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield.

The group meets the second Monday of every month. They also meet for fish fries at the Sussex Boneyard Pub and Grille the third Friday of every other month. This next meeting will be held Sept. 16.
