Car show and more
The Hot Rods of Hampton car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, on Hampton Avenue, Butler. The day will feature over 400 hot rods, classic, custom and muscle cars. Dash plaques will be given to the first 400 entrants plus first, second and third place trophies. Live music will be provided by the Big Wheel Band, and food catered by Saz's. Contests with prizes, kid's activities and Vendor's Row featuring local artists, craftsmen and businesses will also be available.
Show time is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 8 to 10 a.m. is the line up The entrance fee is $8. Enter eastbound Hampton Avenue at 127 Street. All net proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin program. Call the organizers at 847-778-0654, for more details.
The Germantown Community Library Morning Book Club will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the library, N112 W16957 Mequon Rd., Germantown. The group meets the second Thursday of each month in the large meeting room. The group will discuss “The Paying Guests” by Sarah Waters. No registration is required. Guests are welcome.
St. Mary's Seniors
The first Senior Social of the season at St. Mary's Catholic Parish, N89 W16297 Cleveland Ave., Menomonee Falls, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.
Lunch will be served in the St. Clare/St. Francis rooms, followed by a brief program, card games and bingo. The group is for those 55 and older. The cost is $3.50 and reservations are required.

St. Anthony's Catholic Church, N74 W13604 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls, will hold their first family-style fish fry of the season from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the school's Rechling Hall next door.
The cost is $11/adults, $6/children ages 5 to 12 and children 4 and younger are free. A hot dog meal for children 5 to 12 is available for $5. A take-out menu with prices can be found on the church's website. The fish fries are held the first Friday of the month September through May.
