Theft

1A 52-year-old man was taken into custody for shoplifting after he filled a cart with $618 worth of groceries and pushed the cart into the parking lot without paying at Super Pick ’n Save, N77 W14435 Appleton Ave., at 9:10 p.m. July 23.

2Someone smashed out the rear passenger side window and stole tools out of a locked truck parked at Marcus Cinema, W180 N9393 Premier Lane, between 3:45 and 6:20 p.m. July 23.

3Police responded to Super Pick ’n Save, N77 W14435 Appleton Ave., after employees reported a suspicious male pushing a grocery cart containing Red Bull energy drinks down Appleton Avenue at about 2:35 p.m. July 24. Shortly afterward, several citizens reported seeing a man with the cart in a backyard in the N76 W14000 block of Northpoint Drive. The man fled when he saw police pull up, but was taken into custody a short time later near Lilly Road and Lomas Lane. The suspect, a 21-year-old man, is facing a state charge of shoplifting and resisting/obstructing police.

4A $400 cell phone was stolen out of a shopping cart at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, between 1 and 3 p.m. July 24.

5Three people shoplifted a cart filled with groceries at Super Pick ’n Save, N77 W14435 Appleton Ave., and fled in a blue, older model Saturn Sedan at about 1:05 p.m. July 26. The vehicle was last seen heading south on Appleton Avenue.

6A man shoplifted a Samsung Galaxy Express 3 cell phone by taking it out of its packaging and concealing it in his pocket at Best Buy, N95 W16855 Falls Parkway, at about 2:20 p.m. July 23.

Assault

7A 23-year-old woman was taken into custody for domestic violence/battery after she assaulted her live-in boyfriend in the W157 N9000 block of Caroline Drive at about 4 a.m. July 24.

OWI

8A 24-year-old man was taken into custody for second offense OWI after he was pulled over for speeding and expired registration on Elder Lane and Main Street at 2:05 a.m. July 21. A chemical breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.23.

9A 44-year-old woman was taken into custody and cited for OWI after she was pulled over for driving erratically on Appleton Avenue and County Line Road at about 2:20 a.m. July 23. She admitted drinking alcohol before driving, and a preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.25.

Vandalism

10Someone used a permanent marker to write graffiti on an overhead garage door, the women’s restroom door and a water fountain at Rotary Park, W144 N8536 MacArthur Drive, between 10 p.m. July 19 and 10:25 p.m. July 20.

Other

11Emergency personnel responded to an industrial accident at Dielectric Corporation, W141 N9250 Fountain Blvd., at 11:40 p.m. July 21. A 31-year-old male employee suffered lacerations to his head and both hands when a wire from a vacuum hose on a CNC machine he was operating became wrapped around a circulating mill. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

12A 24-year-old man was taken into custody after he was seen drinking alcohol with a bartender and another patron inside Whiskey Corners, W220 N6410 Town Line Road, after closing time at about 2:30 a.m. July 28. The suspect, who had an open court case in Waukesha County, was taken into custody for violating the absolute sobriety restrictions of his bail. Police are following up with possible citations to the bartender and bar owner for operating after hours.
