TV tonight: '24: Legacy,' 'Broke Girls' guest stars

24: Legacy
Fox, 8 ET/PT

As the next hour starts, things look bleak for the good guys, with Nilaa framed and the flash drive in the hands of the terrorists. But we’ve seen 24 — and, well, TV — before, and we know it’s much too soon for those stories to be wrapped up. So you get an episode like this one, which feels for the most part like it’s marking time — and for an audience that has become much less patient with time marking.

2 Broke Girls
CBS, 9:30 ET/PT

Christopher Gorham continues his run as Caroline’s boyfriend Bobby, who this week invites her home to meet his mother and sister — played by SNL’s Nora Dunn and Reno 911!’s Kerri Kenney-Silver. The last thing TV needs is another CBS spinoff, but for a sitcom starring Gorham, Dunn and Kenney-Silver, an exception might be made.

Bates Motel
A&E, 10 ET/PT

When last we saw young Norman Bates, he had murdered his mother. But never fear, Vera Farmiga and Norma are still very much around as Bates begins its fifth and final season. Two years have passed, and Norman continues to be haunted by visions of his dead mama while trying to pass for normal. Oh, and he’s about to get a visitor who will be very familiar to Psycho fans: eventual shower victim Marion Crane, played by Rihanna.
