TV ratings: Despite dip, 'Dancing' is No. 2

Dancing shoes.  ABC's Dancing With the Stars returned for a 24th season with 12.1 million same-day viewers Monday, down just slightly from last spring's 12.5 million premiere, and ranked second for the week behind only CBS's 60 Minutes (14.7 million), which topped the weekly chart for the first time since November 2008, for an interview with just-elected President Barack Obama.

'Empire' steady.  Fox's Empire returned from a three-month-plus break with 8 million viewers Wednesday, ahead of where it left off in mid-December (7.6 million), The premiere of its limited series lead-in, Shots Fired, was less impressive with 4.7 million.

Emmy winner RuPaul is hosting a second season of 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' on Logo.

Coming and going. The ninth-season opener of RuPaul's Drag Race scored a series-high 987,000 viewers Friday, thanks to its move from Logo to larger Viacom sibling VH1, FX's Baskets wrapped up its second season with 442,000 Thursday.
