Summer wellness series

Learn a variety of ways to stay active and healthy, and maximize wellness while aging during this four-part series, presented by April Zwaschka with Brookdale Sussex Assisted Living, held 1 to 2 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month through September. Adult summer reading 

The adult summer reading program runs through Aug. 12. For every book read, enter in a drawing for prizes. No registration is needed and the program is open to anyone 18 and older.

Teen book party

Join other seventh- through ninth-graders for a Paranormal Picks-themed party from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. Chat about books while sharing snacks and activities. Check out a library copy of the book in person at the youth services desk.

Summer story time

Stories, songs, movement and more are designed with preschoolers in mind (through age 5) at story time at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 13-July 27.

Kids book party

For kids in grades kindergarten through first, second through third or fourth through sixth grade. A book-themed party, including book-sharing, snacks and fun activities from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. Check out a library copy of the book in person at the youth services desk. Registration open.

Lego Club

Join other Lego-loving kids to create and build with the library's Lego bricks from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays, June 28. For ages 4 and older.

Interactive children’s department

Explore and create any time in the library's interactive children’s department, which includes construction zone, vet clinic, campsite and KidsLab. Practice hands-on learning in the pretend play areas appropriate for curious kids through second grade. Investigate STEAM-based activities in the makers space for kid explorers in third grade and older.

Reminder

Summer performer showcase: Join the library at 1 p.m. Mondays, through July 24, for a six-week professional performer showcase for children ages 5 to 12. Pick up a free ticket and get directions in person at the youth services desk beginning at 12:30 p.m. the day of the performance. Space is limited.
