The Greater Menomonee Falls Foundation (GMFF) is holding an “Ovation” from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at North Hills Country Club, N73 W13430 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls.
Ovation, an event applauding the civic leaders and groups of Menomonee Falls, will award winners who have volunteered to the community. A $25 donation is requested, which includes hors d' oeuvres.

The Menomonee Falls Food Pantry, N85 W15382 Menomonee River Parkway, is in need of a number of items.
Greatest needs at the pantry include apple sauce, canned pineapple, boxed flavored potatoes, unusual canned vegetables such as sauerkraut, mushrooms, red beets and spinach. The pantry is always in need of chunky soups, canned chili or chili beans, condiments such as pickles and olives, sugar and canned meats.

The Optimist Club of Menomonee Falls will hold its annual Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 13, at the Mill Pond and Shelter.
Registration starts at 9 a.m.; the catch-and-release contest will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Trophies and door prizes will be given out after the contest. The event is for children 3 to 16 years old. They should bring their own equipment. Children will compete within age groups. Food will be available for purchase.
