Leslie Jones wants you to show love for Gabby Douglas

Leslie Jones, contender for 2016 Summer Olympics MVP, has a request.

Leslie Jones is paying it forward.

After the Ghostbusters star was inundated with hateful, racist tweets, Jones returned from her Twittersphere break and was greeted with the hashtag #LoveForLeslieJ.

Now she's asking the Twitterverse to show the same love for Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas, who has been the target of social media criticism while in Rio.

While Douglas admitted to reporters that she's "been through a lot," she says she doesn't really second-guess coming back.

"For me, when you go through a lot, and you have so many difficulties and people against you sometimes, it kind of just determines your character," she said. "Are you going to stand, or are you going to crumble? In the face of everything, still stand. I have no regrets coming back for a second Olympics. It’s been an amazing experience."

Douglas can also find comfort in her vocal supporters, like Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, and Susan Sarandon, who used #Love4GabbyUSA.
