Leonardo DRS Inc. is one corporation that is set to provide new jobs at Woodland Prime business park in Menomonee Falls. Fussville Station, a mixed-use development at the corner of Appleton Avenue and Good Hope Road, is being built across the street from the business park. It will have retail space, apartments and at least one restaurant.

Trysting Place Pub, a former favorite restaurant in Menomonee Falls, is being torn down.

But what is coming in its place will help fuel additional growth in the village, village officials said.

Fussville Station, a mixed-use development at the corner of Appleton Avenue and Good Hope Road, will house retail space, apartments and at least one restaurant when it is complete, said Village Manager Mark Fitzgerald.

The new development will complement the fast-growing Woodland Prime business park.

"The building demolition, site work and site remediation are almost complete," said Fitzgerald. "The project construction will begin later this summer and is scheduled to be complete by the fall of 2023."

The Trysting Place Pub building was about 3,500 square feet. Over the years, there were usually two to three additional tenants besides the Trysting Place Pub, said Fitzgerald.

Plans for Fussville Station call for 170 new apartments next to Jade at North Hills apartments and the Woodlands Apartments.

Village President Dave Glasgow said many people have told him that this side of town "has been neglected in favor of other areas."

But Glasgow said that with the number of well-established companies in the corporate park across Good Hope Road and recent additions like Milwaukee Tool, Leonardo DRS and Tailored Label Products, apartments and the development for this area are excellent additions to the village and a huge attraction for residents.

The businesses at Woodland Prime business park employ about 2,000 people. When Milwaukee Tool's $100 million corporate campus plan for the Woodland Prime business park and its 120,000-square-foot building are completed, it will bring in about 770 additional jobs, according to village documents and company officials.

Leonardo DRS, a U.S.-based defense contractor. is constructing a 350,000-square-foot factory and engineering plant in the business park, employing 449 full-time employees.

Tailored Lable Products is building an 82,200-square-foot building for its company headquarters and manufacturing facility. There will be 117 full-time and 13 part-time jobs, with 99 employees on the largest shift at the new facility, according to documents filed with the village.

"That corporate area across the street consists of thousands of employees, in addition to the other employers and businesses in the general area who will also benefit from this development," said Glasgow. "The apartments will be very attractive for the employee base as well as for people desiring to live in the village. And the location so close to (Highways) 41/45 is ideal for a lot of folks."
